About Gary

Dr. Gary Rodriguez is the President and Lead Executive Coach with LeaderMetrix.

He is a seasoned executive coach with over 35 years of helping leaders develop and achieve their personal, professional, and corporate objectives. His extensive experience as both a leader, speaker, and coach give him special skills in conflict resolution, change management, organizational development, team building, and public speaking.

He specializes in helping executives do honest assessments, design developmental plans, monitor ongoing progress, and learn principals and practices that enhance a leader’s character and competencies.

He also assists companies with executive team building, improving relational dynamics, evaluating and improving culture, strategic planning, crisis management, transitional coaching and organizational development.

He has worked with a broad spectrum of public, private, and non-profit organizations. Some of his past and present clients include State Farm Insurance, Sirius XM Radio, Merix Corporation, Energy Connect, Microfield, Christenson Electric, Lam Research, Econ Mortgage, and Carousel Technologies, and March of Dimes.

Background and Business Experience

Gary’s extensive resume includes a season in the U.S. Army where he was highly decorated as the youngest Drill Instructor in the Army’s history at age 18 years. He was also awarded the Silver Star (the nation’s third highest award for valor) while serving in Viet Nam.

He spent 18 years in the Radio Business as a successful executive including several years as VP with Infinity Broadcasting and Mariner Communications. Gary managed stations in San Jose, California (KSJO and KOME), Kansas City, Missouri (KBEQ), and Jacksonville, Florida (WIVY) and had oversight of stations in Boston and Cincinnati while serving as VP of Mariner Communications. Gary was also twice nominated as radio manager of the year by a national media publication.

He has functioned successfully as both a CEO and a President and understands the issues and challenges facing today’s leaders. He is uniquely qualified to work within organizations and with leaders at all levels.

He is also the author of “Purpose Driven Public Speaking” a book that helps speakers develop and deliver purposeful, talks, speeches, and presentations with less fear and more confidence.

He built LeaderMetrix from the ground up. He has developed a client list that includes private and public companies as well as non-profit organizations. He is also certified executive coach trained at Hudson Institute of Santa Barbara, California.

Education and Training

Gary has a master’s degree from Western in Portland, Oregon. He also received a Doctorate in communication from Gordon Conwell in South Hamilton, Massachusetts. He holds a coaching certification from Hudson Institute of Santa Barbara, California and received leadership training at Center for Creative Leadership.
